My Approach

Narrative Therapy 

Narrative Therapy explores the stories we tell about ourselves. This is often done through narrative mapping, in which we explore the themes that define your life’s narrative. We work together to explore what is working and what is not. Then, as co-authors, we rewrite the narrative of your life to reflect who you are and who you want to be. 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT focuses on growing psychological flexibility, which can include promoting mindfulness, acceptance, and self-compassion. ACT helps you connect with your values and identify the things that make it challenging to make values-based decisions. 

Somatic Therapy 

Somatic Therapy helps you increase mindfulness of the signals your body sends you and how they connect to your emotions. Throughout this process, we can identify what tools may be helpful in grounding. 

My approach blends narrative and acceptance and commitment therapies. In counseling we work together to explore your story and deconstruct problems, concerns or situations. Throughout counseling we will work towards reconstructing your story to fit the person you are and would like to become. During the counseling process I use some somatic practices alongside building tools that fit for you. I also enjoy incorporating eco-wellness into my practice.
