Meet Sophia

I am a therapist specializing in trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, and crisis management. My work is informed by extensive experience supporting individuals who have survived interpersonal violence, acute crises, and prolonged exposure to unsafe or destabilizing environments.
Much of my professional background has involved long-term work within emergency and crisis-based settings, where I supported survivors during moments of immediate danger as well as throughout the process of stabilization and recovery. This experience shaped a clinical approach grounded in safety, clarity, and respect for the adaptive strategies people develop in order to survive.
I bring several years of clinical experience into my work with clients and approach therapy as a steady, collaborative process. Many individuals come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, guarded, or uncertain after navigating systems that did not fully meet their needs. My role is to provide a space where experiences are taken seriously, autonomy is respected, and healing is paced in a way that feels sustainable.
Therapy with me focuses on building safety, understanding trauma responses, and strengthening skills that support both emotional regulation and long-term resilience. I work with clients at varying stages of healing and tailor treatment to each person’s needs, capacity, and goals. You do not need to minimize your experiences or be in crisis to deserve support.

Individual therapy tailored to your unique journey and healing.

Mindfulness practices integrated to support emotional balance.
How I Work
I’m Sophia Badgley, a licensed clinical social worker passionate about guiding clients toward healing and growth. My approach blends empathy with practical tools.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT helps build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. I use DBT to support clients who experience intense emotions, relationship instability, or patterns that feel hard to interrupt. The focus is on balancing acceptance and change so you can respond to emotions without being overtaken by them.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Solution-focused therapy emphasizes what is already working rather than staying anchored in problems. Together, we identify strengths, exceptions, and small, meaningful steps that move you forward. This approach is practical and empowering, helping you create momentum even when things feel overwhelming.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic Therapy focuses on the connection between the body and emotional experience. It helps you notice how stress, trauma, and emotion show up physically and learn ways to regulate your nervous system through awareness, grounding, and gentle body-based strategies. This can be especially helpful when emotions feel hard to access or words feel insufficient.

Supportive counseling using evidence-based therapy modalities.
