Trauma Therapy
We provide trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults in Michigan and Pennsylvania through telehealth.
Who Trauma Therapy is for
Trauma therapy may be appropriate for adults who experience:
- Persistent hypervigilance or shutdown
- Avoidance and emotional numbing
- Shame-based self-concepts
- Difficulty trusting safety or stability
- Trauma layered with OCD, anxiety, or neurodivergence
This includes both single-incident trauma and complex developmental trauma.
How Trauma is Approached
Trauma therapy is paced, intentional, and grounded in nervous system awareness. Treatment emphasizes:
- Stabilization and safety
- Reducing avoidance without retraumatization
- Restoring agency and choice
- Integrating cognitive and somatic awareness
Therapy avoids forced emotional exposure or catharsis-driven models.
Important Boundaries
This practice does not provide crisis intervention or emergency trauma services. Clients must have sufficient stability for outpatient telehealth work.
